K-2 the King of Karakoram is the second highest peak in the world at (8611 m). Nanga Parbat 8126 m is the 9th highest peak in the world. Many legends and superstitious stories have been spun around this peak but it is rightly known as the "Killer Mountain".

KAGHAN VALLEY
Kaghan is the most beautiful and picturesque valley embraced by lower Himalaya hills covered in forests of huge Himalayan pines. 4173 M Babusar pass at its head was the only link to Northern Areas from rest of Pakistan until the Karakoram Highway was built. One of the country's most popular holiday spots, the area offers best trekking trails, light walks, fishing and family outings to its spectacular lakes and flower filled hill sides. Main attraction of the valley is "Naran" which is situated on the bank of Kunhar River at an altitude of 2489 M at a point where the valley widens. Famous lake, Saif-ul-Malook provides an excellent view of the Malika Parbat - 5290 M high.
GILGIT, HUNZA & KHUNJERAB
The land of legends – Rakaposhi

Gilgit, the land of silk, is the scenic home to the rugged but hospitable tribes of Northern Areas. This strategic land sits in a wide irrigated bowl guarded by Centurion Mountains. Gilgit's proximity to China at Khunjerab pass makes it a commercial centre for Chinese goods like lustrous silk and spices. Hunza valley is surrounded by huge mountains stretched over 110 km. Eternal snow, lush green orchards; silent streams, rapid rivers and the emerald green meadows are some of the charms which have made Hunza famous among tourists from all over the world. Entire valley is dominated by the famous Rakaposhi Peak "788 ms" which glitters like a diamond against the blue sky. This is a land of peace, tranquility, fruit and legendary tales.
GILGIT & BALTISTAN - SKARDU
Situated at an elevation of 1454 meters along the banks of Gilgit River, quaint little town of Gilgit has spectacular scenic beauty. For centuries, it had been the capital of various dynasties. Its history goes well beyond 6th century AD. The town is irrigated by a network of canals fed by mountain streams. Peak tourist season is form April to October.

Baltistan is a mountain-packed region in the Northern areas of Pakistan, along the Indus River between the Karakoram Mountains and the Deosai Plateau. It is also known as "Little Tibet" Skardu, its capital, is the starting point for some of the best trekking and mountaineering in the world. Natives here are called Baltis and live in multi-story antique houses made of stone and wood. Clustered round the houses are apricot, peach, mulberry and apple trees festooned with grape vines.
CHITRAL - KAFIRISTAN & SWAT
Situated at an average altitude of 1128 m, Chitral valley is favorite among mountaineers, trekkers, anglers, hunters and anthropologists. Trichmir - 7705 m dominates this 322 km long exotic valley. Chitral district has Afghanistan on its north, south and west. A narrow strip of Afghan territory - Wakhan separates it from Tajikistan.

The lush-green valley of Swat, with its rushing torrents, icy-cold lakes, fruit-laden orchards and flower-decked slopes is ideal for holidaymakers. It has a rich historical past, too. This is "Udayana" (The Garden) of the ancient epics; the land of enthralling beauty, where Alexander of Macedonia fought and won some of his major battles before crossing over to the delta of Indus River. This is the "valley of hanging chairs", as described by the famous Chinese pilgrim-chroniclers, Huaen Tsang and Fa-Hian in the fifth and sixth centuries.
